Detroit music award wins, and new shows
Hello everyone, I’m happy and honored to tell you that the 2015 Detroit Music Awards were very kind to us here. I was honored with winning the 2015 DMA for Outstanding Country Vocalist. Anamaria was awarded the Outstanding Classical Vocalist award, and Brian “Roscoe” White took home the Outstanding Country Instrumentalist award. Thank you to everyone that voted for us. Congratulations to all the winners and nominees.
The Four Michigan Songbirds show at the Trinity House Theater last month was a blast and we've been invited to perform at the Black Crystal Cafe as part of the "For Song Sake" songwriting event on April 25th. Audra Kubat, Michelle Chenard, and I will perform our original music in a songwriter showcase.
This Friday I will perform solo in Port Huron, Michigan at a new venue called Goodfellas, from 9-11. I hope you'll join me.
May is going to be a busy month for me, not only form a musical standpoint, but I will watch my youngest daughter finish her high school year, and her graduation will be in the first week of June. It seems like I'm lead footin' through life faster than ever. In this past week, I was able to go with her to Washington, D.C. to watcher her and the Port Huron Northern band march in the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade. It's quite an experience to watch your children grow up and do cool things like this. I soak up moments whenever I can.
More summer shows are pending, and I will post them as they are solidified on my "Shows" page. We also love to do house concerts! If you'd like to book the band, please email me at booking@julianneankley.com.
Thank you for all of your friendship and support. Much love!
Julianne Ankley
